Some people, not just fans of Tupac, even rapper Chuck D, believe that Tupac Shakur is still with us, alive and well, walking the earth. Some believe his spirit should be allowed to rest in peace and these Alive Theories be forgotton about. Here we try to seperate myths from facts and evaluate each Alive Theory surrounding Tupac's death into a 'lodgical explanation'. We must not forget Tupac was an extremely intelligent man, and such quotes he left in his music, album titles, and videos may just be there to keep you curious on what he had to say, he predicted he would die very young, and may have very cleverly kept us listening to his music through the hope he is still alive, as he seems to often hint! We must also not forget that many people, aswell as us here at 2pacWorld, believe Suge Knight, the owner of Tupac's record label, was in some way, involved in Tupac's murder, so many theories could also evolve from the fact Suge Knight wanted to cause controversy and media attention from the fact Tupac could be alive, media attention would of course result in sales.
Many people hoped that Tupac would return in 7 years, like he suggests or hints at in his music and alias. And that time has come and gone, yet people still think he is alive. Below are some theories that cause people to believe he is, or could still possibly be alive. I personally believe that Tupac is gone, and should be let to Rest In Peace, and that if anyone thinks hard and long about anything, they can come up with a number of theories to prove their point, these theories are just the same!
THE ALIVE THEORIES
⇒ Theory: The driver of the car in which Tupac was riding, Suge Knight (the executive producer of Death Row Records), was not injured and didn't show up for questioning about the shooting.
Answer: The shooting seems to be gang related, thats why Suge didn't show up for questioning
⇒ Theory: Tupac always wore a bulletproof vest, no matter where he went. Why didn't he wear it to a very public event like a Tyson fight?
Answer: Thats wrong, Pacs Bodyguard wrote in his book, that Tupac just weared his vest 1 of 10 times, although it is rumoured Suge recommended that Tupac took of his vest, this IS only a rumour.
⇒ Theory: The video "I ain't Mad at Cha" was released only a few days after his death. "I ain't Mad at Cha" is track 13 on the album All Eyes On Me. The video shows Tupac as an angel in heaven. In the video, Tupac was shot after leaving a theater with a friend, which is very similar to how he was shot in real life. Interestingly, Tupac dies in his last video released under the name "Tupac". His new video "Toss It Up" from the new album was released under the name "Makaveli".
Answer: This is just coincidence, track 13 proves nothing, although the fact his last video as 'Tupac' saw his death, and the next saw him alive, as Makaveli is suspicious but is pure coincidence
⇒ Theory: There were never shown any photos showing Tupac in the Hospital
Answer: This is for the simple reason that press were not allowed into the hospital throughout Tupac's stay
⇒ Theory: Why do you hear the quote "So they built in a fail safe device. Which is what? A four year lifespan. Now there is a Nexus 6 over at the Tyrell Corporation. I want you to go put the machine on him. And if the machine doesn't work?" when you reverse the jumbled in the Tupac / Scarface video "Smile"? Has Tupac a bulid in "fail save device" that will cause Tupac to die after 4 years of success?
Answer: 2pacWorld cannot explain this
⇒ Theory: There is an autopsy certificate on the internet but it says Tupac weighed 215 pounds and was 6'0" tall, but Tupac only weight 165 pounds ans was only 5'7". There is an autopsy photo which is probably also fake. You can see his tatoos but no face.
Answer: It is true that Tupac's vital statistics on the autopsy certificate are incorrect, but it is not a proven official copy of the autopsy report performed on Tupac, so it is most likely just an incorrect fake! The autopsy picture was leaked by Cathy Scott, who wrote a book on the killing of Tupac. When the book was released, the picture was leaked, great publicity dont you think? Plus, if someone was to take a photo of Tupac in this state, they would be sure to get his face in the picture, this is just another fake document for publicity.
⇒ Theory: How come Tupac had an autopsy and a cremation in less then 24 hours after death. Let alone, this was a murder victim. That is unreal, but now we have no body.
Answer: 2pacworld cannot lodgically explain why his body was released for cremation, but we can say that the date of autopsy cannot be taken from the 'leaked' version of the autopsy certificate, as this is thought by us to be a fake, so the date of autopsy may be fake. We would also like to remind fans that Tupac's family wanted his funeral to be a personal and family affair with no press or fans, so the date of his cremation may be fake, to avoid fans trying to find the venue and time.
⇒ Theory: Tupac died on Friday the 13th, which is a very suspicious day, and see nas very unlucky all over the world.
Answer: This is pure coincidence and if Suge Knight was behind the killing of Tupac, this once again would mean extra publicity for Tupac, and his albums.
⇒ Theory: In the song "Life Goes On", aswell as other songs, Tupac raps about his own funeral, why was he cremated the day after his death?
Answer: 2pacWorld have been told that all Shakurs are cremated after their death, why should everything Tupac rapped about be 100% true, it may have just fit with the flow better to state he was been buried, rather than cremation.
⇒ Theory: In the video "Hail Mary" which Tupac released under the alais Makaveli, there is a gravestone that says Makaveli. But the gravestone is cracked and there is a hole right in front of it, inferring that Makaveli rose from the dead.
Answer: This again is just a stunt by Suge Knight to create more press attention, and more heads ringing about Tupac been alive, resulting in more record sales and free publicity.
⇒ Theory: A shooting involving Snoop Doggy Dogg occured close to the release of his album Doggystyle. The shooting made Snoop appear more "real" and showed his fans that he really was a gangsta. The shooting gave him respect because everyone that bought his album believed what he was talking about. Within one week of its release, Doggystyle went platnium. Snoop is signed to the same label as Tupac which is Death Row Records. In December '96, after his death, Tupac's new posthumus album, 'Makaveli' also went platinum.
Answer: This doesnt prove that Tupac is still alvie, but does hint that Suge Knight saw what the shooting did for Snoop's status, and may have tried to implement the same for Tupac.
⇒ Theory: In interviews prior to the shooting, Tupac talked about how he wanted to stop rapping and being a gangsta and get out of the limelight. What is the only way Tupac could completly escape the media spotlight.... if the public thought he was dead.
Answer: This is crazy talk, Tupac talked about quiting the rap game, yes, but he was talking about quitting rap to focuson his promising movie career, not faking his own death.
⇒ Theory: There are no suspects for the shooting. Why not, 50 friends where reportedly with Tuac when he got shot?
Answer: The killing was gang related, and would have been a highly planned and highly paid affair, with every detail planned to extreme lengths to ensure a 'clean' kill and get-a-way. Plus, Suge Knight is thought to have been involved in the killing, and was the driver of Tupac's car so he would have definately had an effect on the after events.
⇒ Theory: The press wasn't going to be allowed at the funeral, but then the funeral was cancelled for unknown reasons.
Answer: The funeral was held with famiyl and close friends only. Please watch the "Thug Angel" DVD for background information on the funeral.
⇒ Theory: Tupac's alias is Makaveli. Though the spelling is different, Machiavelli was a 16th century italian philosopher who advocated the staging of one's death in order to evade one's enemies and gain power.
Answer: Yes, but Machiavelli never did fake his death, although the fact he did write about it, and Tupac took on the alias, which is strange. But Tupac is known to have had a deep love for reading, and for reading such material as that of the likes of Machiavelli, and 'The Art Of war' and other old teachings. He may have took on the alias because he believed, or had respect for what Machiavelli had to offer in his books, and thought it would give his persona an extra effect and extra attention.
⇒ Theory: In Machiavelli's book Discourses Upon the First Ten Books of Titus Livy, in Book 2 Chapter XIII he says "a prince who wishes to achieve great things must learn to deceive". This is Machiavelli's main idea and is a connection between Tupac and the writings of Machiavelli.
Answer: We could go around taking quotes from all of Machiavelli's text and come up with relations to a faked death, that is a subject he wrote about, and to deceive ones enemies is always an advantage, no matter what situation you are in, and this doesnt imply that you should fake your death to do so, for example, a simple name change could decieve enemies :)
⇒ Theory: There is nothing in the album 'Makaveli' relased after Tupac's death, that says TUPAC RIP 1971-1996, or words to that effect. Wouldn't it make sense to include something like that in the first album after his death? The only thing mentioned is "EXIT TUPAC, ENTER MAKAVELI".
Answer: The covers top this album may have been printed/designed before he died, but in his newer CDs, the are references. Also Suge Knight could have changed the covers dialogue to create such text, and create more media hype and attention, which again will result in more money for him from Tupac's albums.
⇒ Theory: The executive producer of The 7 Day Theory, as listed in the CD booklet of the album, is Simon (who is a previously unknown producer in the rap music industry). In the bible, Simon was an apostle of Jesus. Simon was one of the first witnesses of the Resurrection listed by Saint Paul (I Cor. 15: 5). Could Simon be a reference to Suge Knight (the executive producer of Death Row records)? Simon was renamed "Peter, the rock" (John 1:42).
Answer: 2pacWorld cannot explain this, it could be related on absolutely anything.
⇒ Theory: In Richie Rich's album Seasoned Veteran, which was released on the same day as The 7 Day Theory, on the song "Niggas Done Changed" which is a duet with Tupac, Tupac says the following lyrics: "I've been shot and murdered, can't tell you how it happened word for word / but best believe that niggas' gonna get what they deserve." This phrase implies that Tupac knows he will be dead when Richie Rich's album is released.
Answer: Tupac was addicted to weed, and drank hughe amounts of alcohol and many friends, and even Tupac himself said this would cause paranoia, which could be a course of such lyrics. But also Tupac had been shot 5 times previously in 1994, and he new the clock was ticking down to when it would happen again, and as he was proclaimed as a Thug, or a Gangsta, anybody who killed him would be killed in return by Tupac's people.
⇒ Theory: In Makaveli's (Tupac's) song "White Man's World" on album The 7 Day Theory, he says "We ain't never gonna walk off this planet unless ya'll choose to." Did he choose to walk off the planet by faking his death?
Answer: This is not in relation to his death, this is in relation to a black persons struggle with white supremicists, and that if the black community choose to make a stance against this, they will provail and be heard, if not, they have chosen to be overlooked and held back.
⇒ Theory: In Tupac's song "Ambitionz az a Ridah" on the album All Eyes On Me, he says "Blast me but they didn't finish, didn't diminish my powers so now I'm back to be a muthafuckin' menace, they cowards thats why they tried to set me up, had bitch ass niggas on my team so indeed they wet me up, BUT I'M BACK REINCARNATED." This implies that Tupac is reincarnated as Makaveli.
Answer: No, this is referring to Tupac's first shooting in 1994 in New York were he was shot 5 times but survived the attempt to take his life. He said he believed that Biggie (an ex-friend of Tupac's) and Puff Daddy had something to do with his attempted murder and also his friend and fellow performer 'Stretch' crossed over from Tupac's side, onto the side of Biggie and BadBoy Records. This explains the so called "bitch ass niggas on my team so indeed they wet me up" staement, and he survived the shooting, and is saying he is stronger for it, so he has in effect, been re-incarnated.
⇒ Theory: In Tupac's song "Life of an Outlaw" on the album The 7 Day Theory, he says "All for the street fame on how to be managed, to plan shit, 6 months in advance to what we plotted, approved to go on swole and now I got it". This implies that Tupac planned his "death" in advance and now he is enjoying the success of his plan.
Answer: No, this could be refferring to absolutely anything, even a robbery. For instance Tupac talked about shooting cops all the time, does that prove that Tupac killed a cop? No - because it's only lyrics, a stroy he is telling.
⇒ Theory: In Tupac's song "Made Niggaz" from the Supercop Soundtrack, he says "Fuck 'em all who don't understand my plot to get richer... Outlaw to the grave, a muthafuckin' made nigga I got a plan to get richer. Take my picture." Once again he mentions his "plan" to get rich.
Answer: Tupac had many plans before his murder, this, for example, could be reffering to his plan to start his 'One Nation' group, which would behold the best rappers in the game, together, as one. But once again we must remember most lyrics are a story, a fictional one at times, and could refer to truth or fiction.
⇒ Theory: In E-40's album Hall Of Game in the song "Million Dollar Spot" which is a duet with Tupac, Tupac says, "Fans can't understand my ghetto slang, so i evade and plot and plan a life of better things...." Once again Tupac mentions his "plan".
Answer: Once again I must stress what i have stated above, that lyrics tell a story, which is most times fictional, and this plan could refer to anything Tupac had in mind.
⇒ Theory: In Tupac's song "Ain't Hard 2 Find" on the album All Eyes On Me, he says "I heard rumors I died, murdered in cold blood, tramatized pictures of me in my final states, you know momma cryed, but that was fiction, some coward got the story twisted." It seems as if Tupac foretold the future.
Answer: I have to admit, this is eerily correct, he did die, was murdered in cold blood, and there was pictures relased of him in his final state (autopsy picture). But once again, Tupac knew his clock was ticking, he new he didnt have long left, and he had been shot 5 times previously so he new if he did die, it would be through murder, so he is predicting what he knew would happen. But he could also be refferring to his previous shooting, saying they thought they killed him, was bragging about the shooting to their friends, but he survived.
⇒ Theory: Scarface's song "Smile", which is a duet with Tupac, was supposedly recorded in September of '96, before Tupac was "shot". But the video for the song was released in May of '97 and the video depicts Tupac rapping while he appears to be crucified. At the end of the video, Tupac falls off the cross and stands up...which is another image of resurection. Towards the end of the video, it becomes slightly apparent that Tupac is actually portrayed by a look-alike. I still wonder, if he is really dead, then why do they keep making everyone so suspicious???
Answer: The video is definately played by a look-a-like, and was released a long time after Tupac's death, when the theories had already begun to cause attention. Scarface could have been trying to get attention for his own work through trying to spark new controversy through Tupac not been dead, or he could have just wanted to portray that his duet with Tupac was a form of resurrection, through Tupac's lyrics, and he was helping keep Tupac's legacy alive.
⇒ Theory: In the video for "I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto" the town it takes place in is called Rukahs. "Rukahs" spelled backwards is "Shakur". The room he goes into with the girl is room number 7. The clock in the background at the end is at 4:03...the same time he officially died. More funny stuff from the video producers. My question still remains, why?
Answer: The reasons for all this funny stuff from video directors is purely to do with profit, if they can cause controversy, and people talking about the video, then the song, and the video is a hit, which again results in more money for Suge Knight.
⇒ Theory: In Tupac's song "No More Pain" on the album All Eyes On Me, he says "A heart of a soldier with the brains to teach a whole nation." Could this be a reference to Machievelli or Jesus?
Answer: No, this is reffering to Tupac himself i believe. He may be stating that he had the brains to teach the whole world, which we know he did, and that he had the heart of a soldier, which again, he is known for.
⇒ Theory: On the cover of The 7 Day Theory, there is a picture of Tupac being crucified. This fits with the idea that Tupac "died" so he could be reincarnated as Makaveli. In the picture, there are five bullet holes. Interestingly, Tupac was "shot" 5 times.
Answer: No, Pac was shot 4 times in the fatal shooting that took his life, 5 times in the shooting of 94 which he survived, again proving that the resurrection is not relevant to his fatal shooting, but the one he survived. Also Suge Knight could have re-designed the cover after Tupac's death to cause more controversy and attention for the album, resulting in more money for Suge himself, again pointing to the fact Suge was involved in the killing.
⇒ Theory: The only witness to the shooting who said he would testify, Yafeu Fula, aka Yaki Kadafi from Tupac's group, The Outlawz, was found shot to death on November 10th in a hallway of an apartment building in East Orange, NJ.
Answer: Again, the killing of Tupac was gang related, so anybody who says they are a witness who will testify immediately put themselves on the hit-list of the killers. Tupac would not have let Kadafi, a friend and cousin of Tupac's, get killed, just for people to think Tupac himself was dead if he wasnt. This infact goes to prove that Tupac is dead.
⇒ Theory: After the shooting of Notorious B.I.G. on March 9th, 1997 Lieutenant Wayne Petersen of the the homicide division of the Las Vegas Police Department who has been investigating Shakur's alleged killing said, "Before yesterday, I had never even heard of the Notorious B.I.G. There is no link between the two murders. We think the only connection is in the minds of the media. The media wants to connect the two." If you asked anyone who knows anything about the Tupac case, they would say something about the rivalry between Biggie and Tupac. How will the Las Vegas police ever solve the case if they don't know the basics? The answer is that they won't. C'mon guys, that is pretty pathetic.
Answer: This doesnt prove Tupac isnt dead, but does prove the impotence of the police departments involved in the case, and maybe the reasons why a killer hasnt been caught.
⇒ Theory: In the first three seconds of The 7 Day Theory, the words "Suge shot me" are spoken very softly. Check it out for yourself, but that certainly is suspicious and it must mean something.
Answer: The guy that analyzed Ozzy Osbones voice back in the 1980's has since proven that 2Pac says something like "on The Top"
⇒ Theory: On the song "Thug Luv" which is a duet with Tupac on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's double CD Art Of War, Tupac says "whuz poppin' nigga", Bizzy Bone can be heard saying "He's Alive He's Alive He's Alive" in the background.
Answer: No, Bizzy Bone has since said he is in fact saying "Cleveland.I.A.", Bone Thugs are originaly from Cleveland.
⇒ Theory: During an interview, an ABC correspondent asked Suge Knight, "If you knew who killed Tupac, would you tell the police?". Suge answered, "Absolutely not"
Answer: The killing wa gang related, if Suge did snitch, he himself would most deifnately be killed, just like Kadafi was, who said he would testify. Plus we believe, along with many others, Suge Knight was involved in the killing, so of course he wouldnt say who did it.
⇒ Theory: There are numerous more albums released since Tupac died. They are released under the name "2 Pac" not "Makaveli". This implies many things...does this mean that "2Pac" is back?
Answer: No, the songs are now released by Afeni Shakur, Tupac's mother, who has no intrest in trying to gain publicity from Tupac not been dead, she wants to preserve his legacy through his songs, were as Suge Knight, did want the publicity, and thats why Makaveli is used on the Deathrow album after his death.
